Gosh, I cannot believe I have not posted in almost a year! My goal was to post once a month. I will keep this recap short....2016 flew by which I am grateful for.
​February: Gage attended the APHA Dixie National Show in Jackson, MS for the first time. He and A Sharper Cardinale won Youth Barrels!!
​March: NBHA State Show time in Hattiesburg, MS. Gage and Sharpie won the Peewee barrels and won a nice buckle for their efforts!! I rode AHH Mazing and High Rollin EZ Jetta. Both horses made it back to the finals; Macy in the 1D and Jetta in the 3D. Macy ended up in the 1D and Jetta placed 2nd 3D in the finals. I was very pleased with them both and so was my bank account. :)  
​April: Lucky Dog time in Starkville MS!! I LOVE this race mainly because its close to home and they have a Future Fortunes race that has been good to me in the past. This year was no different. Macy placed in Round 1 and placed in the Future Fortunes race!!!
May: Time to visit the Cajun state!! Six of us loaded up and headed to LA for the weekend. Seven horses and two barrel races a day two days in a row!! We all had a blast!!
In 2017, as you may have noticed, my focus has taken me in a different direction. Gage is getting better and better with his horses. He joined NLBRA for the second year and ended up placing in 2nd in LW Barrels and Poles, 3rd in Flag Race, and 5th in Goat Tail Untying for ALBRA. He also holds his NBHA card this year for the first time. I currently have one finished barrel horse (AHH Mazing) and I am seasoning two four year olds and a 5 year old. I have found myself veering off the rodeo trail and attending more barrel races and super shows to better season my young horses. I also have many students that are stepping up and showing a huge improvement. I am enjoying watched them all, as well as Gage, grow and learn the sport of barrel racing. With that being said, I find myself staying closer to home to better suit all of our needs.
​I have several things planned for the upcoming months and I will try to do more updating here. At this time I am thinking about attending the Mega barrel race in August and Gage will be starting his third year of NLBRA. Still a Little Wrangler contestant, we are going to attend different chapters in order for him to better himself....you are only as good as your competition.

So far 2016 has not been my best year..........I started off the year in Pontotoc MS at a NBHA race on January 3. I ran Perks N Firewater, Peaches N Pie, and AHH Mazing. I hit the 2nd barrel on Peaches and Perks N Firewater but AHH Mazing did win a check for 2nd 2D!!! 

January 8-9 SPFR Philaelphia MS
I've always thought of myself as a strong person that can mentaly block out most anything in order to make the best run of my ability. I do know that I failed miserably at that during the SPFR. My mom has been battling Alzehimers and was not doing well. I left after the rodeo on Friday night and went home. I just wanted to be with my mom.......I did run Saturday night and had a much better run on Perks N Firewater. There is just something about the SPFR in Philadelphia that does not set well with my horses. They run on crappy ground all year but the footing in that building is just not for us...maybe one day. 

I lost my mother on Tuesday, January 12. There are no words that I can type to descirbe how I feel. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends during this time. I think I will be taking some time off from the road for a little while. I want to be with my family and our home place. There are just simply no words or emotions to describe how hard this is.

WOW!! I didn't realize I had not posted since February...gosh I'm behind. Well, just about all I can say is I can't believe 2015 is almost over. This has been an incredible year. I set out with a goal of making the SPRA finals on another horse besides Peaches. That goal was accomplished with AHH Mazing and Perks N Firewater. I had a blast hauling many many miles to around 30 WPRA/PRCA rodeos. I learned a lot about my horses and myself. The rodeo road is full of ups and downs but also so full of memories. A few memories that stick out in 2015 are placing at several pro rodeos on 2 different horses, winning a few NBHA shows on different horses, placing 2nd at my hometown rodeo, watching Gage show a full year of horse shows and trying new events, and selling 5 horses in the month of August!!! I think that is a personal best for me. 

10-31-15 October is my favorite month.....I think because the weather is finally cooling off, fair rodeos, Gage's birthday and our anniversary month. Last weekend Perks N Firewater and I placed 9th in Shreveport, LA. This is a rodeo that I have always wanted to place at. I was in Friday night performance and boy did it decide to rain!! This 6 year old mare handled the rain, goats & sheep, and very little warm up (on asphalt) very well....well enough for a check.  We are off Halloween weekend and are doing non-horse related activities for the first time in a long time. Gage is very excited about his Halloween costume he is learned 2 new events in preparation for ALBRA rodeos. 

I have the Lord to thank for every day that I am able to do what I love for a living!! Its not all glitz and glamour but I am truly blessed.

December has been a month of relaxation for Magnolia Farm, which I really enjoy!!

WOW what a day I had. Perks N Firewater WINS 1-D, AHH Mazing was 12th, and A Sharper Cardinale wins 3rd 4-D and gets 2nd place points which allows me to win the 4-D for the year. I finished 4th 1-D, 5th 3-D, and 1st 4-D for 2014!!!

November has been somewhat of an off month. The 2014 SPRA rodeo season has ended and I've been able to take a few weekends off. I've been fortunate to have outside horses to work during the winter months and spend time with the horses I own that I haven't hauled much since early Spring. During my off time I am loving my time spend watching Alabama football!!!!
November 15 - NBHA MS07 Meridian, MS

• Gage wins 3rd in Peewee barrels
• Perks N Firewater, Arizona Digby Dunnit, & AHH Mazing all run in the 2-D. Duetsie J barely hips the 2nd barrel to cruise to what would have been a 3-D time. 

November 21  - Lake City, FL  Flyin C Productions $500 added 4-D jackpot

• Peaches N Pie and Perks N Firewater both make 1-D runs at the jackpot. Arizona Digby Dunnit makes a 2-D run. 
  

November 22 - Lake City, FL Feeding Hunger 4-D $1,000 added 4-D jackpot

• Perks N Firewater picks up a 2-D check to pay for all 5 of my jackpot runs in Lake City.

November 22 - PRCA Citrus Stampede Rodeo Inverness, FL

• Peaches N Pie places 8th out of 82 girls!!!

November 29 - Turkey Twerk 4-D Barrel Race Meridian, MS

As the 2014 rodeo season comes to an end I have slowed down from traveling just a little. My training/selling business is still wide open and I am hauling 3-4 horses with me to "get them seen." 
Sept 5 Clarksville, TN IPRA/SPRA I ran Perks N Firewater....I hit a barrel to easily place 4th :(
Sept 6 Westminster, SC IPRA Peaches N Pie places 4th against a tough group of girls!!!
Sept 13 Hampton, GA Peaches N Pie IPRA/SPRA ends up just one place out of the money (5th) against another tough group of girls.
Sept 19 Columbus, MS SPRA Peaches N Pie wins this rodeo for the 2nd year in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sept 20 Meridian, MS NBHA Perks N Firewater 3rd 1-D, AHH Mazing 18th 1-D, Duetsie J 15th 3-D, Thelma - training horse places 5th 4-D. 
Sept 27 Thomasville, AL Open Bulls & Barrels Arizona Digby Dunnit wins the open division!!! He's for sale. 
October 3 Bonifay, FL PRCA/WPRA Perks N Firewater got the call to run on the grass football field. This 5yo mare handled everything with ease!!
October 4 Collinsville, MS NBHA Perks N Firewater wins the 1-D and Windys Girl on Guard also wins her 1st check.
October 11 Marietta, GA IPRA/SPRA Peaches N Pie wins 3rd. Arizona Digby Dunnit clocks .2 behind Peaches. 
October 17 Henderson, TX PRCA/WPRA Peaches N Pie made a few bobbles....mostly ground issues...to clock .3 out of placing at one stiff rodeo!! After the slack I worked Windys Girl On Guard in the arena for her to see the rodeo atmosphere. 
October 24 Greenville, SC IPRA Peaches N Pie Wins 3rd!!!

The month of April was very good to me!! I started the month out at the Lucky Dog barrel race in Starkville, MS by entering Peaches N Pie and AHH Mazing in the Saturday Open Race and Future Fortunes Round. I made 2 clean runs but no money. Saturday night I entered an IPRA rodeo in Barton, MS and placed 4th on Peaches and took an exhibition run on AHH Mazing (Macy) and she was .3 off Peaches. It was a small check for 4th place but it was a HUGE boost to my confidence in my horse. I also brought home a nice mare to sell!!  The next weekend April 10-12 I entered 3 rodeos....Athens, GA, Rockmart, GA and Statesboro, GA. I ran at 2am in slack at Athens and had a clean run but just didn't clock well enough to place out of the 75 girls that were entered. Rockmart was on Friday and I was again in the slack...Peaches placed 2nd!!!! Statesboro was a 7 hour drive from Rockmart but I was feeling confident and was ready to rock and roll Saturday night. My rock n roll quickly turned into kicking myself in the butt...I hit 2 barrels to place. 

April 18 I entered the PRCA/WPRA rodeo in Lauderdale, MS. This is a rodeo that draws a HUGE crowd. The arena has an off centered gate to the left but I decided to run in instead of setting up. IT WORKED....Peaches and I ended up 4th on the weekend. Saturday, April 19 Gage entered his first horse show with his pony, Apples. They placed 4th in pony halter. 

April 25-26 DCR had our rodeo in Centreville, AL. I won the rodeo on Peaches, Macy clocked .3 off Peaches, and CP Zan Cut It was 2 seconds off!!! Gage hauled Apples and helped push the timed event cattle down before the rodeo started. 

It's always a blessing to place an any rodeo or barrel race but it had been several months since I had drawn a check on Peaches. I am the type that will over think the smallest change and finally convinced my husband and farrier to try something different on her and I must say I was right!! So thankful that I am able to do what I love every day and that I am able to travel on the weekends. I have the BEST clients in 2014 that I have ever had. I have people trusting me with their horses that I have never met. This means the world to me!!
